It is with profound sadness that we note the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II; a symbol of constancy, a faithful servant, and above all, a much-loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. May she now rest in peace.
In the words of WRAP’s Chair, Julie Hill: "The Queen has been, as many have said, a beacon of service and stability through an era of often turbulent change. She had a presence and a smile that lit up the lives of a great many people, and celebrations in her name brought people together from diverse backgrounds in a way few other leaders could achieve. I see the period of public mourning as an opportunity to reflect on the people and the values that are important to us, and how they enhance our varied communities."
The Queen’s words from COP26 carry extra weight and poignancy for us today and we will continue to be inspired by them. "None of us underestimates the challenges ahead: but history has shown that when nations come together in common cause, there is always room for hope."
Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the Royal Family at this time.
