WRAP is dedicated to exploring a variety of avenues to reduce household food waste. Previous research undertaken by WRAP revealed a significant connection between separate household food waste collection services and reduced levels of food waste arising. This qualitative research explores the behaviours and relationships that people have with food waste recycling in the home to better understand how it can be a way of helping people to waste less.

Businesses often struggle to access and share consistent environmental impact data, hindering effective action to tackle and accurately report their environmental impact. The LED 4 Food project, delivered by WRAP and partners including Oxford University and WWF, aims to overcome this barrier by improving the understanding, reporting, and management of environmental impacts within the food system. Funded by Defra, this research project focuses on enhancing the quality and availability of standardised environmental impact data and infrastructure.

This publication and accompanying tool support people across the food supply chain, particularly those calculating the water footprint of food and setting science-based targets, to:
- Better understand and connect food loss and waste reductions with their efforts to reduce systems-wide water use.
- Calculate and communicate the environmental benefits of FLW reductions.
- Link those benefits to their science-based water use reduction targets.
These resources lay the foundation for guidance to organisations and governments in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who are seeking to measure and tackle the water footprint associated with food imports, food waste and redistributed food.

In this report, commissioned on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), WRAP looks at the areas throughout the lifecycle of textiles where the level of textile waste produced is an issue, in order to identify ‘hotspots’.
The report looks at waste by fibre type, waste by life cycle stage, and waste by product type to pinpoint not only where textile waste is happening, but also the types of textile waste occurring.
