WRAP's role
WRAP provided strategic advice to the Canadian team to finalise the Plastics Pact, which was launched in January 2021.
WRAP has worked with The Natural Step, National Zero Waste Council of Canada and other partners to support their ambitious strategic Roadmap, and is working with Canada Plastics Pact on the Roadmap’s next phase.

Over 95 leading businesses, organizations, and governments in Canada have come together to form an ambitious action plan to eliminate plastic waste.
Targets

Define a list of plastic as problematic or unnecessary and take measures to eliminate them.

100% plastic packaging designed to be reusable, recyclable or compostable.

50% of plastic packaging is effectively recycled or composted.

Achieve an average of 30% recycled or responsibly sourced bio-based content in plastic packaging by 2025.
