Textiles Resource Hierarchy

WRAP's Textiles Resource Hierarchy has been created to guide practitioners working within the textiles industry towards a system that captures and maximises the value of our resources. The guide is designed to support retailers, brands, service providers and reuse and recycling organisations to prioritise the prevention of waste, increase textiles reuse and longevity, improve recycling rates, and reduce the volume of textiles that are sent to landfill or incineration.

The information and suggested actions in this guide have been informed by existing WRAP resources and research. This includes content developed as part of the Textiles 2030 Voluntary Agreement, the UK’s leading voluntary initiative supporting businesses and organisations within the fashion and textiles industry to transition to more sustainable and circular practices. No single organisation can solve the climate crisis alone, and through Textiles 2030 we bring key players from across the fashion and textiles value chain together to find circular solutions and overcome shared challenges. Our key workstreams include Design for Circularity, Circular Business Models, Closing the Loop on Materials and Citizen Behaviour Change.
