Collaborative Voluntary Agreements (VA) and collaborative action initiatives will be key to unlocking systemic change in the textiles sector and driving progress towards a circular textiles economy, complementing and enhancing policy measures and interventions where they exist, and catalysing action in nations where they don’t.
The Textiles Action Network: Blueprint for Action sets out the building blocks needed to design and implement a collaborative VA or collaborative action initiative, providing a replicable model within which countries can create their own measurable national targets and action plans, aligned with internationally recognised objectives.
The Blueprint draws from WRAP’s practical experience of establishing collective action agreements in textiles, such as through the-now-defunct Sustainable Clothing Action Plan 2020 Commitment (SCAP) and European Clothing Action Plan (ECAP), and our current textiles agreement, Textiles 2030, which has been replicated in other nations such as Denmark, Switzerland and Australia.
