This information has been developed to support local authorities introducing a new food waste recycling service to households receiving a kerbside collection.
Editable templates have been designed to raise awareness of the new service, provide instructions to householders about how to participate in the kerbside collections along with supporting caddy sticker, liner and hotfoil artwork, residual bin stickers, a contamination tie and do not use until sticker to reminder people when to put their bin out. These communications will help ensure householders know how and when to participate correctly.
In addition, for those local authorities moving from a mixed garden and food waste service to separate food waste collections, an editable service change letter and leaflet are available to raise awareness of the changes along with an instruction leaflet. This will help householders understand how to participate and manage their food waste going forward.
