Household Food Waste Collections: Communications guidance and templates

The Environment Act 2021 and the Government’s Simpler Recycling reforms, require local authorities in England to provide all households with a separate weekly collection of food waste by 31 March 2026. This guidance provides a step-by- step approach to developing and implementing a successful communication campaign to support your service change, making it easy for householders to participate.

It includes information on how to communicate effectively with downloadable Word and Excel planning templates, example website content, frequently asked questions, social media and PR content.
